This article aims to elucidate the meaning of praxis in Paulo Freire”. The interest in
clarifying how Paulo Freire conceives praxis in education stems from the complaint that
teacher training courses have been too theoretical, far from the reality of educational
practice and that they do not teach teachers how to teach. In short, there would be a
lack of practice in teacher education. The solution, then, would be to encourage some
kind of articulation between theory and practice in teacher education and performance.
In this sense, the article seeks to answer the question: what is praxis in Paulo Freire?
Therefore, the objective is to apprehend the concept of praxis in Paulo Freire. This is a
theoretical-conceptual research based on the work Pedagogia da Autonomia and other
essays by the author. From the analysis of Freire's thought on the subject, we infer that
the concept of praxis in Freire is linked to the way in which Men produce their existence,
as self-production through the transforming action-reflection of the world. |
