We aim to trace the profile of cassava flour producers in two rural communities located
in the northern region of the state of Tocantins and verify their social insertion from the
flour production. We use as theoretical reference the artisanal work and the centrality of
the work from the salary question, particularly that realized by Robert Castel; and as
methodology, semi-structured interviews with workers and ovens owners. We conclude
that some of the characteristics of artisanal work remain, such as generational
transmission; that the social profile of the workers is composed of individuals with low
schooling who previously had other occupations including work experiences in the
urban area of municipalities neighboring the community where the research was
conducted. |
