The work presented here deals with the paths taken to encourage the student in intergenerational knowledge in a public educational institution. Participating in this study are high school students from the Beira Rio State School in the Luzimangues district, municipality of Porto Nacional/Tocantins and academics from the Universidade da Maturidade – UMA/UFT, and the municipalities of Tocantins that joined the Pacto do Idoso, members of the Board Members Course given by the Federal University of Tocantins / UFT. Intergenerationality is one of the focuses of this study, since the aging of the population, according to data from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics / IBGE (2010), will increase considerably in relation to younger people. Working on this theme is of fundamental importance for this process to occur and prejudices against aging can be rethought, it adds to the improvement of the quality of life of the youngest and the old, produces well-being for each generation. For younger people to understand the need for respect for the elderly, this interaction between them must take place in an educational environment. Studying the elders of Tocantins between generations is a preponderant factor to encourage an agent that must be equated with educational interests. This action mobilizes for action and has as general objective to verify the intergenerational practices as new possibilities of learning in the basic and superior school space, taking into account the Implementation Plan of the National Common Curriculum Base (BNCC) and the new curricula such as Transversal Contemporary Themes (TCTs). ), fostering a favorable environment for the intergenerational process to take place. Data will be collected on social media, through interviews, research “in loco” and reports of practical classes. It is an applied research, qualitative approach and by sampling. This study is a learning laboratory for the understanding and practice of intergenerationality, suggesting to deepen other practices that will point to advances in the discussions on human aging and intergenerationality, indicating a direction with a discourse committed to social demands.
