This research is the result of an effort at what has been presented, in recent years,
forthe inclusion of women in the labor market and the prejudices against them, just
because they are women. In this context, our work privilege on a group of eleven
(11) women who have double shifts: at home and in a refrigerator located in a rural
area of the municipality of Nova Olinda, in the northern state of Tocantins.
Throughout history we can see the women's struggle to achieve their rights in this
way was made a research on the existing gender division, the economic participation
of women and the changes that took place in families following the departure of these
women to the labor market. With the analysis of the survey results, it could be seen
that the participation of women support the family is quite significant because in
many cases they are the maintainers of the house. To get information was used
structured interviews to not lose focus of the work. And to complement the analysis
was used as the theoretical framework authors who work with these issues, such as:
Swan (2012), Moreno and Viudes (2012), Duarte (2008) among others.
