In this context, our work privilege on a group of eleven (11) women who have double shifts: at home and in a refrigerator located in a rural area of the municipality of Nova Olinda, in the northern state of Tocantins. Throughout history we can see the women's struggle to achieve their rights in this way was made a research on the existing gender division, the economic participation of women and the changes that took place in families following the departure of these women to the labor market. With the analysis of the survey results, it could be seen that the participation of women support the family is quite significant because in many cases they are the maintainers of the house. To get information was used structured interviews to not lose focus of the work. And to complement the analysis was used as the theoretical framework authors who work with these issues, such as: Swan (2012), Moreno and Viudes (2012), Duarte (2008) among others. Esta pesquisa é resultado de um esforço diante do que se tem apresentado, nos últimos anos, para a inserção das mulheres no mercado de trabalho e o preconceito sofrido por elas, exatamente por serem mulheres. Nesse contexto, nosso trabalho evidencia um grupo de 11 (onze) mulheres que tem dupla jornada de trabalho: em casa e em um frigorífico situado na zona rural do município de Nova Olinda, no norte do Estado do Tocantins. Em toda a história podemos ver a luta das mulheres para conseguirem seus direitos, desta forma foi feita uma pesquisa sobre a divisão sexual existente, a participação econômica das mulheres e as alterações que ocorreram nas famílias após a saída destas mulheres para o mercado de trabalho. Com a análise dos resultados da pesquisa, pôde-se constatar que a participação das mulheres no sustento da família é bastante significativa, pois em muitos casos, elas são as mantenedoras da casa. Para levantar estas informações foram utilizadas entrevistas estruturadas para não perder o foco do trabalho.
