The current study aims to analyze the journalistic coverage about the Award Winning Music Show, which took place in 2014 and 2015, electing, therefore, the Tocantins News and the T1 Portal News, from where 156 articles were analyzed, whereby 72 are part of the analytical corpus. It was also sought information in the Official Gazette of the City of Palmas, bearing in mind that the event under study is an initiative of this municipality, reason why all the steps, by legal requirement, would need official publication to obtain validity. It is noteworthy that the method used in this study is the content analysis proposed by Laurence Bardin (2011) option that allowed a search to identify how these approaches contributed or not to the strengthening of regional culture elements within the territory of the State of Tocantins, having as methodological notes content analysis. Thus, it was possible to understand how cultural journalism can contribute to trigger the interest of the subjects in order to appropriate the cultural production. Moreover, it was possible to perceive how the festivals of unpublished music in the State of Tocantins are remarkable and are part of the Cultural Manifestations that aspire important careers and reinforce the regional identity from the lyrics of the songs of the artists. The results pointed out that the two analyzed vehicles, even dispensing an ample space for the promotion of the Award Winning Music Show, did not contribute to the affirmation of the regional cultural identities, since in their approaches They refrained from emphasizing the singers who were protagonists of the event and the lyrics of the songs of great regionalist appeal presented in it, opting this way to give voice to singers of national expression, such as Ellen Oléria, instead of highlighting the participants of the music festival under analysis.
