Currently, there is some agreement on the basic contents to be taught in the classroom by Physical Education professionals, which was built through many debates and discussions. According to Soares (1996, p. 11, emphasis in original), "modern Western Physical Education has taught GAME, GYMASTICS, FIGHTS, DANCE and SPORTS. We could say that these are the classical contents". This study focuses on gymnastics, understanding it and its expanded repertoire of possibilities as a specific content of PE that should, or at least should be developed/explored in the classroom. The study is theoretically based mainly on the work of Ayoub (2013), in his work "General gymnastics and school physical education", as well as studies by: Souza (1997), Soares (1992, 2004), Freitas and Frutuoso (2016), Silva and Sampaio (2012). To contribute to this debate, the study has as its main theme: gymnastics in school, it was proposed an investigation through the methodology of Focus Group (FG), with the teachers trained in PE and active (interested in participating in the research) in Miracema do Tocantins - TO, in the year 2019, in order to answer the following problem: is the content of gymnastics present in PE classes in schools in Miracema do Tocantins? Thus, it was possible to conclude with this study that gymnastics is an absent content in PE classes in the city and that this absence is justified mainly for two reasons: the rejection of students before the content (especially males) and the lack of knowledge on the part of PE professionals about the topic. O debate acerca das práticas corporais na escola não é recente, tais questões permeiam até hoje, e o centro das discussões quase sempre gira em torno do que deve ou não ser praticado nas aulas de Educação Física (EF). Atualmente, existe certa concordância dos conteúdos básicos a serem ensinados em sala de aula pelos profissionais da Educação Física Escolar (EFE), este foi construído por meio de muitos debates e discussões, em que há um consenso que a EF vem ensinando: jogos, ginástica, lutas, dança e os esportes na escola. Poderíamos afirmar que esses são os conteúdos clássicos. Esse estudo tem como foco a ginástica, entendendo esta e seu repertório ampliado de possibilidades como um conteúdo próprio da EF que deve, ou pelo menos deveria ser desenvolvida/explorada nas aulas. O estudo se fundamenta teoricamente principalmente no trabalho de Ayoub (2013), em sua obra “Ginástica geral e educação física escolar”, bem como em estudos de: Souza (1997), Soares (1992, 2004), Freitas e Frutuoso (2016), Silva e Sampaio (2012). Para contribuir com este debate, o estudo tem como tema principal: a ginástica na escola, propôs-se uma investigação por meio da metodologia de Grupo Focal (GF), junto aos professores formados em EF e atuantes (interessados em participar da pesquisa) em Miracema do Tocantins – TO, no ano de 2019, com o intuito de responder a seguinte problemática: o conteúdo de ginástica está presente nas aulas de EF nas escolas de Miracema do Tocantins? Dessa forma, foi possível concluir com esse estudo que a ginástica é um conteúdo ausente nas aulas de EF no município e que essa ausência é justificada principalmente por dois motivos: pela rejeição dos alunos diante do conteúdo (especialmente do sexo masculino) e pela falta de conhecimento por parte dos profissionais de EF acerca da temática. 2023-08-24T20:31:53Z 2023-08-24T20:31:53Z 2023-08-24 Monografia SANTOS, Tháynna Soares dos.
