Resumo:
The supervised internship was carried out integrally at the Veterinary Hospital of the Federal University of Tocantins, located at the School of Veterinary Medicine and Zootechnics, located at BR-153, km 112 S/N, in the city of Araguaína, in the state of Tocantins. The period of internship occurred between October 24, 2016 and January 16, 2017, in the area of Medical Clinic and Surgical of Domestic Animals, totaling 360 hours. It was guided by Prof. Dr. Tiago Barbalho Lima and supervision of the master André Rolim Monteiro. During this period, the trainee followed the clinical and surgical appointments, performed by Veterinarians and teachers of the institution, allowing the academic to assist in all the areas developed in the place of internship. A total of 153 animals, 157 diagnoses performed and 58 outpatient and surgical procedures were followed during the supervised stage. The present work of course completion aims to demonstrate the activities developed during the internship, as well as report and discuss an accompanying clinical case. The case chosen for the development of this work covers these two areas mentioned above, since it was a bitch with no defined breed, with the presence of a tumor known as hemangiosarcoma, which appeared on the surface of the bulbar conjunctiva of the third eyelid, from a chronic history and exposed by a prolapse of the gland of the third eyelid, diagnosed clinically and surgically excised, to obtain the clinical improvement of the patient.
