The academic fellowship was carried out in two institutions, the first in the Veterinary
Hospital of the Federal University of Uberlândia, in the city of Uberlândia, Minas
Gerais, in the area of Clinical Small Animal, from November 3 to December 17, 2014,
in which 102 cases were followed, totaling 248 hours, and the second was held at the
“Governador Laudo Natel” Veterinary Teaching Hospital of the College of Agricultural and
Veterinary Sciences at São Paulo State University (UNESP), campus of Jaboticabal, São
Paulo, Brazil, in the area of Small Animal Surgical Clinic in the period from January 5
to February 27, 2015, which were followed 67 cases, totaling 300 hours of activity. To
the trainees it was allowed to do the anamnesis, physical examination, the collection of
materials for further examinations and administer medications in visited and / or
hospitalized patients, and help or follow surgical procedures, always under the
supervision of resident / responsible teacher. This paper aims to describe the activities
carried out, and still report two cases followed during these periods.
