Resumo:
This work aimed to study syphilis, policies and programs aimed at men's health, the National Primary Care Policy, the Health Care Network, Primary Care Units and Family Health Teams, as well as the challenges of providing health care to men when it comes to sexuality. Syphilis represents a serious public health problem and requires effective actions for prevention, diagnosis and treatment. In this context, public policies and social programs focused on men's health play a crucial role in promoting health and preventing diseases, including sexually transmitted infections. The National Primary Care Policy (PNAB) and the Health Care Network (RAS), consisting of Primary Care Units (UBS) and Family Health Teams (ESF), are fundamental as strategies to guarantee universal and integral access to health care. However, there are still challenges to be overcome among these strategies, such as the lack of resources, regional inequalities and difficulties in accessing services. Promoting health education, training professionals, strengthening primary care, integrating services and partnerships with civil society organizations are actions proposed in this paper to improve care and, specifically, guarantee access to (sexual) health care for men. In conclusion, the promotion of men's health, especially with regard to sexual health, is essential to prevent diseases and ensure a healthy life. Syphilis requires special attention, and public policies, social programs and the health care network must be strengthened and improved to face the challenges of guaranteeing universal and comprehensive access to health care for men. In order to promote equitable and quality health for all men, concerted effort by governments, health care professionals and the civil society is essential.
