With the development of aquaculture production it was necessary to use new
production strategies. Polyculture aims is to improve the productivity of the sector,
bringing various productive and economic benefits to the producer. It is a system that
meets the precepts of modern aquaculture, being responsible for a sustainable
production, where excess nutrients that would cause pollution of the environment and
would be lost will become biomass of high economic value. The polyculture system
also brings improvements in water quality. The use of tilapia and shrimp being
cultivated together, shows a promising alternative with increased income for the
producer. |
