Characterized as an exploratory qualitative research. We used a semi-structured interview as an instrument for data collection. Three teachers with training in Physical Education who work in the municipal and state education network of Miracema do Tocantins were interviewed. The interview presented six questions through which the teachers guided their narratives and practical experiences with the modality. In this way, the study identified that the basketball content is one of the sports modalities worked on in the educational practices of the teachers, however, there is a predominance of the practice of the futsal modality to the detriment of the other modalities in the school scope, making the proposition of other sports and/or body practices an even greater challenge in the teachers' conception. The three teachers stated that they had full support from the school management in offering the body practices established by the BNCC, a document by which they guide their planning. From the narratives and field research, we understand that of the three schools, two offer favorable conditions for teaching basketball with physical space (sports court) and appropriate materials and/or implements (basketballs, apts, cones). Finally, we hope that this work proposal can help new research related to the theme, as we identified a lack of literary productions that deal with basketball as a content of Physical Education at school. O presente trabalho teve como objetivo analisar e discutir as narrativas das professoras de Educação Física quanto às suas experiências no ensino do basquetebol como conteúdo da Educação Física. Caracterizada como uma pesquisa qualitativa do tipo exploratória. Utilizamos como instrumento para coleta de dados a entrevista semiestruturada. Foram entrevistadas três professoras com formação em Educação Física que atuam na rede municipal e estadual de ensino de Miracema do Tocantins. A entrevista apresentou 6 questões pelas quais as professoras nortearam suas narrativas e experiências práticas com a modalidade. Desse modo, o estudo identificou-se que, o conteúdo basquetebol, é uma das modalidades esportivas trabalhadas nas práticas educativas das professoras, no entanto, há um predomínio da prática da modalidade futsal em detrimentos das outras modalidades no âmbito escolar, tornando a proposição de outros esportes e/ou práticas corporais um desafio ainda maiorna concepção das professoras. As três docentes afirmaram ter todo respaldo por parte da gestão escolar em ofertar as práticas corporais estabelecidas pela BNCC, documento pelo qual norteiam seus planejamentos. A partir das narrativas e da pesquisa de campo, compreendemos que das três escolas, duas oferecem condições favoráveis para o ensino do basquetebol com espaço físico (quadra esportiva) e materiais e/ou implementos (bolas de basquete, aptos, cones) apropriados.
