Resumo:
The extraction of babassu coconut is an economic activity of great importance for the livelihoods of traditional extractive communities in the micro-region of Bico do Papagaio/TO. The objective of this work was to carry out the survey he production of babassu coconut almonds in the municipalities that make up the micro-region of Bico do Papagaio in the state of Tocantins from 2011 to 2020. The methodology used consisted of using secondary data from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) in the section on Production of Vegetal Extraction and Forestry (SIDRA), later the data were tabulated in Excel spreadsheets and graphs were made of the evolution of production per ton. Among the results found, it was identified that the state of Tocantins is the third largest producer of almonds in Brazil. Of the 25 municipalities analyzed, only seven had satisfactory production, with the municipality of Tocantinópolis being the largest producer in the analyzed periods and Riachinho the one that produced the most in 2020.
