CNPQ::CIENCIAS HUMANAS::EDUCACAO This research aims to investigate and describe the traditional knowledge present in the cultural manifestation called sussa. This is present in the celebrations and religious rites of the Kalunga. The context of the work is the Kalunga Community of Vá de Almas - GO. The interest in the research arose from the concern of the researcher, who is a member of the investigated community, in order to reflect on this tradition as an element of quilombola identity and the role of new generations in the preservation and enhancement of local culture. The research methodology is based on ethnography, using observation, field research and conducting interviews with community members. The qualitative approach also has a bibliographical survey based on authors who have dedicated themselves to the subject in question. The research leads us to reflect on the testimony of popular knowledge present in the quilombola tradition and its role in strengthening the cultural identity of the Historic Site and Cultural Heritage Kalunga through the rescue, registration and appreciation in all aspects of social life. A presente pesquisa tem como objetivo investigar e descrever os saberes tradicionais presentes na manifestação cultural denominada sussa. Esta se encontra presente nos festejos e ritos religiosos dos Kalunga. O contexto do trabalho é a Comunidade Kalunga do Vão de Almas – GO. O interesse pela pesquisa surgiu da inquietude da pesquisadora, que é integrante da comunidade investigada, de modo a refletir sobre essa tradição como elemento da identidade quilombola e o papel das novas gerações na preservação e valorização da cultura local. A metodologia da pesquisa tem como base a etnografia, servindo-se da observação, da pesquisa de campo e da realização de entrevistas dirigida a membros da comunidade. A abordagem qualitativa conta ainda com o levantamento bibliográfico baseado em autores que se dedicaram à temática em pauta.
