This work aims to report the master's dissertation research of the Postgraduate Program in
History of Amazonian Populations of the Federal University of Tocantins at the Campus of
Porto Nacional-TO, on the process of regulation of the Santo Antônio Settlement in Porto
Nacional-TO. Using a vast theoretical framework, as well as documentation provided by the
National Institute of Colonization and Agrarian Reform (INCRA), presenting a brief history
of Agrarian Reform in Brazil, the governments that influenced the creation of the Santo
Antônio Settlement Project, as well as a documentary analysis of the P. A. and on the
pedagogical proposals of the Santo Antônio Settlement. A. and on the pedagogical proposals
of the field, focusing on the Pedagogy of Alternation and Pedagogy of Paulo Freire, ending
with an analysis of the existing schools before the creation of the Municipal Education Center
of the Chico Mendes Field and the pedagogical proposals, as well as the reality of the school
today.
