Resumo:
This research unfolds to reflect on the gender category from the perspective of the media, considering them as plural universes. For the discussion, the guiding thread will be the analysis of the series “O Gambito da Rainha”, from the streaming service catalog - Netflix. The object of study is to understand how Gender Relations are presented and developed in the series “O Gambito da Rainha", (2020). The thematic focus focuses onProblematizing Gender Relations from the Series “O Gambito Da Rainha”.Methodologically, this work was based on studies by Angela Davis, Sueli Carneiro, Judith Butler, Joan Scott, etc., which put into debate the need to study genres. Thus, the research was dedicated to carefully analyzing photograms/frames, excerpts, parts and fragments of the series that demonstrate the genre category in a latent way. This research is of a Qualitative nature, other methodologies that were used are: Bibliographic Survey, Study/Discourse Analysis and Decoupage. The final considerations open doors to think about audiovisual productions not only as a type of language/art/entertainment vehicle, but also as a critical-reflexive opinion on problems of gender, sexualities, inequalities, violence and many other markers. The connection between media and gender brings new air, new winds, new perspectives to transform old paradigms, old dated and outdated concepts of what it means to be a woman and a man in society. Gender studies make it clear that masculine and feminine are not fixed, they mix, incorporate and are diverse, that is, diversity is great.
