The present dissertation of the master's degree of the Programa de Pós-Graduação em
Propriedade Intelectual e Transferência de Tecnologia para a Inovação - PROFNIT refers to a
proposal to create a pedagogical application that could become teaching material in indigenous
language, for Xerente students who attend the Wakõmẽkwa indigenous school, in the Riozinho
Kakumhu community, in the Xerente indigenous territory in the state of Tocantins. The project
used participatory research as a methodological approach and has as theoretical contribution
authors who based its hypotheses and interpretations, such as Souza (2019), Rojo (2012) and
Dagnino (2009). As an educational product, the pedagogical application aimed to help teachers
to spread the Akwẽ culture and language among indigenous students in the community,
contributing to the teaching and learning process. The reflections presented pointed out that the
use of technology disconnected from indigenous knowledge and experiences has generated
concern among community leaders about the future and conservation of their cultural practices
and traditional language. Therefore, this research has paths that seek to converge both
technology and the symbolism of the traditional values of the Akwẽ people, creating an
innovative tool for maintaining their cultural traditions and mother tongue. It is believed that
the result of this research can effectively contribute to the appreciation of the Akwẽ culture,
thus being able to strengthen the feeling of belonging among the students of the community,
valuing the unique characteristics of its people. In conclusion, it can be said that the study and
the game presented can be objects of expansion of the pedagogical and research material for a
doctoral thesis in the area of indigenous education. |
