Resumo:
In the state of Tocantins is commonly used in agricultural crops, which can be evidenced in the municipality of Lagoa da Confusão, known by the number of agricultural projects developed in the region. This paper aims to present preliminary data from a survey of pesticides that are used by farmers and to compare the individuals of L. ocellatus captured along the Urubu - Tocantins. The Urubu is part of the sub-basin of the river Formoso, has about 2.702 km2 and your main course is 130 km to the mouth. The study is located between the geographic coordinates W 49 ° 41 '17.54 ", S 10 ° 50' 49.32" W and 49 ° 2 '43.99 ", S 10 ° 38' 13.84". This study was approved by the Ethics Committee of University Luterana of Brazil, and by the Center for Conservation and Management of Reptiles and Anfíbios-RAN/ICMBio. Samples were collected during 2009, with nightly visits to nearby Urubu. Catches were carried out manually with the aid of hand nets. This procedure was carried out for two to three consecutive nights. Of the individuals captured were selected 5 (five) apparently healthy and 100% with malformations, which were sent to the Analytical Laboratory of Histology - UFG. The histological slides prioritized reproductive system, the epithelium and liver, since according to literature, can be largely affected by pesticide contamination of substances. The semi-structured interviews were conducted in the vicinity of point 2 and 3, with the farmers, still performing survey near the place of return of empty containers of pesticides. From this, it was noticed that in the area was cleared and where rice is grown under flooded conditions was greater amount of L. ocellatus, and little guys. Unlike reality observed in the native area, capturing a greater number of larger ones. A similar situation happened in section 3, the presence of grass, individual we had different sizes and in greater quantity. During the interviews it was noticed that many farmers responsible for planting, although it said it would not be possible to produce without using pesticides, were afraid to release the products used. Were identified pathological changes in liver and skin of L. ocellatus three points studied.
