The specific objectives that guided theseinvestigations are: a) Identify which reading concepts support the SAETO test; b) Understand to what extent the concept of dialogical reading constitutes the evaluation items of the SAETOtest; c) To analyze how the principles od dialogismo permeate the questions that are included in the topic Reading Procedures of the reference matrix of the SAETO test. To achieve the objectives outlined, this research was inserted in the qualitative and interpretive approach (DENZIN; LINCOLN, 2006), from the perspective of Applied Linguistics. This dissertation was based on the conception of dialogical language (VOLÓCHINOV, 2017) and used documentar analyses as a method, because, in these investigations, They use several oficial documents that received analytical treatment. In view of the above, the data indicated that the SAETO is an evaluation system that presents some points of convergence with the perspectiveof dialogical reading, since it provides the reader to form in the midst of various inferential readings, raising ideological valorizations. And some points of disagreement with dialogism, since some questions do not presente the necessary elements of the chronotope of a text for itsinterpretation. Esta dissertação busca compreender como os pressupostos dialógicos da linguagem (BAKHTIN, 2015; 2017; 2018; VOLÓCHINOV, 2017; 2019) perpassam as provas do Sistema de Avaliação da Educação do Estado do Tocantins (SAETO), aplicadas a alunos do 5º e 9º ano do Ensino Fundamental. Como objetivos específicos que guiaram esta investigação, destacam- se: a) Identificar quais conceitos de leitura subsidiam a prova do SAETO; b) Compreender em que medida o conceito de leitura dialógica constitui os itens de avaliação da Prova do SAETO; c) Analisar como os princípios do dialogismo perpassam as questões que se inserem no tópico “Procedimentos de Leitura” da Matriz de Referência da prova do SAETO. Para atingir os objetivos delineados, esta pesquisa se inseriu na abordagem qualitativa e de natureza interpretativista (DENZIN; LINCOLN, 2006), partindo da perspectiva da Linguística Aplicada. Esta dissertação utilizou como método a análise documental, pelo fato de, nestas investigações, usar diversos documentos oficiais e que receberam um tratamento analítico. Diante do exposto, os dados indicaram que o SAETO é um sistema de avaliação que apresenta alguns pontos de convergência com a perspectiva da leitura dialógica, haja vista que proporciona ao leitor se formar, em meio a diversas leituras inferenciais, suscitando valorações ideológicas.
