Resumo:
This dissertation aims to understand the vision that children have regarding forest peoples, their culture and the knowledge they produce as content for the Philosophy course for Elementary School. The didactic sequence was the instrument used to capture the students' impressions regarding Amerindian thought as content, since the intention of the research is to make the culture of these peoples known, mediated by the works of Amerindian authors. In this way, students could have contact with knowledge about the knowledge of forest peoples and their characteristics, such as orality, respect for elders, knowledge coming from the words of spirits and the intrinsic relationship between humans, non-humans and nature. Traditional peoples have a wealth of knowledge, which we still do not have access to due to their orality. To access it, we must "translate" it into writing. For Western culture, books have the same degree of importance as words for oral societies. Without these instruments of cultural recording, the preservation of knowledge would not be possible. In this sense, studying Amerindian authors means making learning known through orality.
