Our goal was to understand what and how Geography is taught in the Quilombola do Prata community school, having as specific objectives, to know if traditional knowledge is associated with what is taught in the classroom; understand the importance of school geography for quilombola education and identify whether in daily practice at school, teachers address issues involving Afro, black or quilombola history and culture. In search of a better understanding of the theme, the research is of a qualitative nature, in which the information was acquired from bibliographic research and by field research with semistructured interviews with the teachers of the school unit. Geography is an important component of the school curriculum, considering that it is through it that the student understands the reality experienced in space and territory. The difficulties encountered by teachers in teaching Geography classes are in their lack of training in the area of Geography, as their initial training is in Pedagogy, as well as in the lack of continued training in search of qualification and necessary and essential materials for teaching and quality learning that makes sense to students. A presente pesquisa aborda o processo de ensino de Geografia na educação escolar em um quilombo, ressaltando as dificuldades e necessidades dos professores e alunos, tendo como foco principal a Escola Municipal Miguel Rodrigues de Sousa, localizada na comunidade Quilombola do Prata, na zona rural de São Felix do Tocantins -TO. Nosso objetivo foi compreender o que e como a Geografia é ensinada na escola da comunidade Quilombola do Prata, tendo como objetivos específicos, saber se os saberes tradicionais são associados ao que é ensinado em sala de aula; compreender a importância da Geografia escolar para a Educação Quilombola e identificar se na prática diária na escola, os professores abordam questões que envolvam a História e Cultura afro, negra ou quilombola. Em busca de uma melhor compreensão sobre o tema, a pesquisa é de natureza qualitativa, no qual as informações foram adquiridas a partir de pesquisas bibliográficas e por pesquisa de campo com entrevistas semiestruturadas aos professores da unidade escolar. A Geografia é um componente importante do currículo escolar, tendo em vista que é por meio dela que o aluno compreende a realidade vivenciada no espaço e no território. As dificuldades encontradas pelos professores em ministrar aulas de Geografia estão em sua falta de formação na área de Geografia, pois sua formação inicial é em Pedagogia, assim também como na falta de formação continuada em busca de qualificação e materiais necessários e essenciais para um ensino e aprendizagem de qualidade e que faça sentido para os alunos. 2024-11-28T20:00:52Z 2024-11-28T20:00:52Z 2021-04-07 Monografia SOUSA, Pedrinha Galvão de.
