Resumo:
This article reports a study on students of the Integrated Licentiate in Mathematics and Mathematics (LIMF) course at the Universidade Federal do Oeste do Pará (UFOPA). N=30 students participated in the study who entered the university in 2012, 2013 and 2014, and who attended the third semester of LIMF. The objective was to identify factors that are not compatible with the dropout of these students. At the same time, this work provides notes on possible strategies for improving the course. The results point to the need to improve the didactics and methodology of the professors of the course, inclusion of the attitude of students to act as protagonists, inclusion of leveling courses and improvement of the Pedagogical Project of the Course (PPC).
