Resumo:
The importance of prenatal care aims to ensure the development of pregnancy, envisages the delivery of a healthy newborn, with no impact on maternal health, encompassing psychosocial aspects and educational and preventive activities. The records of information collected during prenatal consultations serve as instruments that facilitate communication between the teams involved in the care and between the teams and the pregnant women, facilitating a quality assessment throughout the pregnancy. Thus, the present work aims to analyze prenatal records from the perspective of nurses from basic health units in the city of Macapá-Amapá. This is a descriptive, qualitative study, an excerpt from the research "Situational analysis of prenatal care in the capital of the State of Amapá", in which the basic units of the municipality were visited to assess the quality of prenatal care. 59 nurses were interviewed, from 19 UBSs and from the specialty center. After analyzing the interviews, four categories emerged that address: the prenatal record tools; the lack of uniformity of records and the impact on care; the importance of records for nurses as legal support and the lack of evaluation of care, and the physical structure and technical knowledge of the processing of records. Therefore, the fragility of the service offered in the UBS's of the capital of Amapá was identified.
