Resumo:
The objective of this work was to analyze the use of tactile sensory models as alternatives to include visually impaired students to facilitate the teaching of botanic. Braille is a tactile reading and writing system for blind people. It originated in France in the 19th century and bears the name of its inventor Louis Braille. This system is composed by the combination of six dots arranged in two columns of three raised points, denominated as cell.Braille arrived in Brazil in 1854 through the Brazilian José Álvares de Azevedo, which studied and learned about this system in France, where he studied in a school for the visually impaired. From that, Braille was widespread throughout the country, becoming the method of reading and writing for the visually impaired. The study was carried out with a group of visually impaired students at the institution of the Secretaria de Estado de Educação-Seduc-5ª Ure-Unidade Regional de EducaçãoSantarém-Pará.The tactile sensory models were elaborated representing the foliar morphology, with morphologic description written in Braille. The models were applied and exposed to the students along with theoretical explanation about the content addressed. Positive results of the project using sensory models were observed, where 100% of the students comprehended the content addressed. In conclusion, the usage of tactile sensory materials had a good acceptance and allowed the comprehension and understanding about the content addressed.
