Resumo:
The relationship between the environment and health has become a relevant topic on the agenda of public policies and public health since the 1990s. Issues such as sanitation, solid waste treatment, deforestation in the Amazon, expansion of agribusiness and climate change have affected the life of riverside populations in the Amazon. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze the environment-health relationship from the perspective of the National Policy for Comprehensive Health of the Populations of the Countryside, the Forest and the Waters in the community of São Pedro, Lower Amazon region, State of Pará. The Participatory Rural Diagnosis method was used with the construction of conceptual maps, a script for face-to-face interviews and through the instant messaging application via the internet, WhatsApp, conversation wheel and meeting for situational strategic planning. The results show that the population's perception of the environment and the problems that interfere with everyone's quality of life include: issues such as excess garbage, insufficient medication, issues related to school lunches and insufficient teachers, are issues that determine the health and, because they are not resolved, create conditions for community vulnerability. The implementation of the National Policy for Integral Health of the Populations of the Countryside, Forest and Waters favored great conquests for the peoples of the waters, with the promise of guaranteeing universal access to health through the SUS. This represents a milestone in the struggle to improve lives, but it is not enough. It is necessary to promote sustainable public policies, for this, this study will be delivered to the public authorities so that they can look sensitively at the riverside populations.
