It is essential to discuss the importance of the Community Health Agent (CHA) in face of the difficulties faced in rural communities, looking at the actions that characterize Primary Health Care. The population chosen for the research were the Community Health Agents from the riparian region of the Arapiuns River. For data analysis we used the software Iramuteque to help in the initial treatment of the data, and from the analysis of Descending Hierarchical Classification and similarity tree, we obtained seven classes that were analyzed and grouped. We found several challenges faced by the CHWs, such as facing, among the communities assisted, a certain "discredit" regarding the severity of the pandemic; lack of material supplies; devaluation of the work, among others. It was also verified that the Public Policies, aiming at improving the work of the CHWs within the Amazonian territory, are of fundamental importance, given the daily challenges of the territory. Faced with the pandemic scenario, the difficulties that surround these professionals became even more evident, as well as how much SUS needs to advance in health actions. O presente trabalho, teve como objetivo descrever os desafios enfrentados pelos ACS da região Arapiuuns, durante a pandemia da Covid-19. É imprescindível que se discuta a importância do Agente Comunitário de Saúde (ACS) frente às dificuldades enfrentadas nas Comunidades rurais, com o olhar voltado para as ações que caracterizam a Atenção Básica. A população escolhida para a pesquisa foram os Agentes comunitários de saúde da Região ribeirinha do rio Arapiuns. Para análise dos dados utilizamos o software Iramuteque para auxilio no tratamento inicial dos dados, e a partir das análises de Classificação Hierárquica Descendente e árvore de similitude, obtivemos sete classes que foram analisadas e agrupadas. Foram encontrados diversos desafios enfrentados pelos ACS, como enfrentar junto às comunidades assistidas certo “descrédito” relativamente à gravidade da pandemia; falta de insumos materiais; desvalorização do trabalho entre outros. Verificou-se ainda que as Políticas Públicas, visando a melhoria do trabalho do ACS dentro do território amazônico, são de fundamental importância, visto os desafios diários do território.
