Resumo:
The present work is a research on the challenges and perspectives of rural school transport in the Vila Maracá community. It is a qualitative and quantitative field, bibliographical and documentary research. Its specific objectives include identifying the challenges faced by students in school transport, highlighting the legal frameworks that support rural school transport, presenting the ways in which students can travel and highlighting the main communities that school transport serves. Data collection was carried out in two ways, one through the internet to identify public policies and programs aimed at school transport, the municipalities and institutions responsible for these programs and the other research was in the field, with an interview with 14 parents of students and 11 students, following a form with 10 questions pertinent to the topic, each interview took an average of 30 minutes. The results obtained showed how difficult and tiring the journey of students to get to school is, transport does not offer comfort or safety to students. With the data obtained by the research, we identified that the time it takes to get to school, the lack of security, the discomfort caused by the poor conditions of the roads used and school transport, make the student wear out before arriving at school. , with all these obstacles, students still expect to have quality transport that meets their needs for safety and comfort, so that they can make a less tiring trip and achieve better school performance, not forgetting their goal of studying while aiming a better life and with more opportunities despite the current difficulties. It is not enough just to offer public education, it is essential to ensure conditions of access and permanence in the school environment
