This dissertation investigated theses and dissertations on the internationalization process of Higher Education, produced in Postgraduate Programs in Education (PPGED) in the northern region of Brazil. It is a qualitative research, with the option of the State of the Art method, through which it was intended to know the concepts adopted by the authors of the theses and dissertations on the internationalization of Higher Education, filed on the website of each PPGED of the universities. of the North Region. The following problem question was organized: what are the conceptions of the internationalization of Higher Education expressed in the theses and dissertations of the PPGED in the North of Brazil? The objective of this study was to analyze, in the theses and dissertations of the PPGED in the northern region of Brazil, the conceptions of internationalization in Higher Education expressed in the productions. The specific objectives sought to identify which theses and dissertations on the internationalization of Higher Education were produced in the PPGED of the North region, between the years 2015 and 2019, and also to map the concepts adopted in the theses and dissertations on the internationalization of Higher Education. Among the foreseen procedures, preliminary syntheses were carried out to select publications relevant to the investigated theme. Subsequently, syntheses were elaborated from the corpus - composed of the sections referring to the internationalization of Higher Education, which allowed to identify and map the conceptions, through the use of the Content Analysis technique. As a result, there was a lack of publications on the internationalization of Higher Education, highlighting in the period investigated, only 01 (one) study that is central to the object of the dissertation, originated from the PPGED of the Federal University of Pará. It was found that the referred publication converges to conceptions that indicate a counter-hegemonic perspective and addresses critical conceptions, of an emancipatory nature about the internationalization process, expressing the use of knowledge in a way that is contrary to those adopted by the Knowledge Society and the Human Capital Theory.
