Resumo:
Migratory phenomena have always existed in the history of mankind, but since the consolidation of the nation-state, the displacement of migrants between countries has been accentuated and was in the very constitution of modern nationalities. With the advent of globalization, international migration reached an even greater extent with the transformations of the capitalist mode of production and the consequent repercussion in the world of work. This research, then, seeks to investigate two effects of the current migratory phenomenon: transnational citizenship, which questions the concept of traditional citizenship as the relationship of a person with a single nation-state, starting to consider those subjects who have rights in more than one parents; and transnationality, which also challenges the limits and sovereignty of this nation-state by highlighting the actions of people who constantly come and go across national borders, putting in check the repressive and supervisory apparatus that is usually relegated to dealing with those borders of a nation. This research made use of the consultation to bibliographic sources among the already consubstantial regional literature on the Amapá-French Guiana border. Focusing mainly on bibliographies of an ethnographic nature, the present work can gather elements for the analysis and interpretation of the material, reaching conclusions that characterize the phenomena of transnational citizenship and transnationality according to the specificities of the French Amapá-Guiana border.
