Resumo:
Nowadays the textbook plays a fundamental role in the teaching-learning language process because it often constitutes a unique source of information and reading for both teachers and students. Taking into account this importance, this study aimed to verify how occurred the integration of the textbook of English language in the Public School Dr. Alexandre Vaz Tavares and the consequences of this integration in the educational practices of those involved in search. The methodology used was descriptive with a qualitative and quantitative approach. The data were collected from September 2014 to May 2015. The study included three English Language teachers, eighty-six high school students and an educational coordinator. The results lead to understand that for teachers entering the textbook had no significant reflection, since most do not use it, concerning the students do not perceive any resistance on its use.
