The present work aims to highlight the importance and the need for critical and argumentative reading of science popularization genres, such as those present in the Recreio magazine, in a 5th grade elementary school class at the José Duarte de Azevedo Municipal School; as well as assisting in the practice of stimulating reading by the teacher-subject of the research. The research involved the observation of reading sessions developed and directed by the teacher of the class in question, it also had questions through questionnaires for both students and the Portuguese language teacher, in addition to reading workshops developed by the researchers. Reading scientific dissemination texts from the Recreio magazine, as it is a magazine that presents a variety of textual genres with simple, clear and accessible language, as well as current themes and visual stimuli that are excellent attractions for children and young people, was a excellent support for the success of this course conclusion work. With the use of this resource, we observed that reading classes no longer had the character of obligation and became a combination of knowledge, fun and pleasure. Worked in this way, the practice of reading can be very efficient to arouse interest and develop in children the habit and taste for reading. |
