Beginning of an inventory of the vascular plants of the Amazon region, based on the bibliography and the local herbariums, following, more or less, the Engler system, according to the last revision. In this first part are considered the families Lycopodiocea, lsoetácea, Psilotácea and Equisetãcea referred to in the North American literature as Fern Allies, and belonging to Taxon pteridopbyta. Initially a brief chronological report of the naturalists who traveled the region, from the 18th century, and their contributions to the knowledge of Amazonian botany, was made. |
