The present work approaches from several angles the dynamics of agricultural systems, often grouped under the generic denomination of family agriculture, whether these farmer-type, traditional or indigenous type. The methodological tools mobilized in the articles are several: ethnographies, biographies, collective, family or individual trajectories, historical sources, surveys of agrobiodiversity, genetic analyzes, but all have in common the characteristic of interspersing readings of the past and the present. The objective of the dossier is to propose a reading from various angles of the dynamics of agricultural systems in a context marked by sociocultural, economic, environmental and public policy changes that impact local systems and still do not open the way to differentiated proposals.
