The methodological tools mobilized in the articles are several: ethnographies, biographies, collective, family or individual trajectories, historical sources, surveys of agrobiodiversity, genetic analyzes, but all have in common the characteristic of interspersing readings of the past and the present. The objective of the dossier is to propose a reading from various angles of the dynamics of agricultural systems in a context marked by sociocultural, economic, environmental and public policy changes that impact local systems and still do not open the way to differentiated proposals. O presente trabalho aborda sob vários ângulos as dinâmicas de sistemas agrícolas, muitas vezes agrupados sob a denominação genérica de agricultura familiar, sejam essas agriculturas de tipo campesina, tradicional ou indígena. Os instrumentos metodológicos mobilizados nos artigos são vários: etnografias, biografias, trajetórias coletivas, familiares ou individuais, fontes históricas, levantamentos da agrobiodiversidade, análises genéticas, mas todos têm em comum a característica de entremear leituras do passado e do presente.
