The study of museum collections has been going on since classical antiquity as a source of information about the development of human history. It contributes greatly to the scientific literature, since large amounts of data can be taken from the collections. For this reason, this paper presents the analysis and classification of archaeological material from the municipalities of Prainha and Almerim and its surroundings, which is in the Technical Reserve of the Archaeology Department of MPEG. The material in question was donated by different collectors who, passing through the region, collected samples in an unsystematic way. Six collections were identified, totaling 2670 ceramic fragments, 07 lithic fragments, and 04 statuettes. The ceramic material was analyzed in detail allowing the identification of differences between the pottery from this region. |
