The islands of Algodoal and Maiandeua are located on the northeastern coast of the State of Pará, in the municipality of Maracanã, where the restinga ecosystem stands out, with its different vegetational types, and in its floristic diversity, some species of the Ochnaceae DC family, object of this study, are found. The objective of this work is to survey the Ochnaceae DC family and its distribution in the mentioned restinga, and to perform the taxonomic treatment of its species, elaborating a taxonomic key to facilitate their identification and taxonomic descriptions. The methodology used in this work is the one commonly employed in plant taxonomy. The family Ochnaceae DC. has the largest number of genera and species in tropical South America. In Brazil, it is represented by about 9 genera with 105 species. In the study site, the family consists of 2 genera: Ouratea Aubl. and Sauvagesia L., and 4 species - O.castanaefolia (D.e.) Engl. Shrub about 2m high, simple leaves, alternate, glabrous, peninérve, with acuminate apex and cuneate base, serrate margin; limb 4,0 - 8,0cm long and 2,5 - 4,0cm wide; yellow flower; drupaceous fruit. Located in thickets in the open shrub field. O. microdonta (Dalz.) Engl. Shrub up to 3m high, leaves simple, alternate, glabrous, petiolate, peninert, obtuse apex and base; limb 4.0 - 6.5cm long and 2.0-3.5cm wide; flower white and fruit drupaceous. O. racemiformes Ule. Shrub about 2m high, alternate leaves, simple, glabrous, petiolate, with acuminate apex and obtuse base, limb 3.0-7.0cm long and 2.0-3.5cm wide; yellow flower; drupaceous fruit. These last two species described, have as habitat the bushes of open shrub formation and restinga forest of Princesa Beach. Sauvagesia erecta L. Herbaceous plant, erect, about 25cm high, alternate leaves, simple, lanceolate, acute apex and base, serrate margin; limb 0.4-1in long and 0.2-0.4cm wide; rosy flowers; capsular fruit. It is located in the open shrubby field, among bushes. |
