The area consists of mangrove vegetation in the southern, central and northern portions of the island; hypersaline fields covered by herbaceous vegetation inside or near the mangroves; barrier formation in the interior of the island and restinga vegetation covering much of the sandy plain, in the northern, northeastern and western portions of the island. The present work deals with the survey of Chrysobanaceaes species. The family Chrysobalanaceae consists of about 521 species, distributed in 18 genera. The genus Licania (151 sp.), and Hirtella (89 sp.), are the largest and both are primarily located in the Neotropics. The Family Chrysobalanaceae is one of the most abundant families in central Amazonia. For the study of the Chrysobalanaceae of the APA, material already herborized and incorporated in the collection of the João Murça Pires herbarium, of the Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi (MG) was used; all material was hydrated in 70% alcohol solution, in order to facilitate the description and illustration of the species. Through bibliographic reviews and collections identified by specialists, the differential characteristics of the taxa were confirmed and an identification key for the species occurring in the APA was assembled. Five species were found for the family, distributed in four genera: Chrysobalanus icaco L., Hirtella ciliata Mart. et Zucc., Hirtella racemosa varo hexandra Willd. ex Roemr. et Schult, Licania octandra subsp octandra Hoffmanns. ex Roem. & Schult. Kuntze, Parinari campestris Aulb. APA de Algodoal/Maiandeua localiza-se no município de Maracanã, litoral nordeste do estado do Pará, ocupando uma área de 385 ha. entre as coordenadas geográficas de 00°34'4/1 a 00°34'30/1 5 e 47°31'05/1 a 47°34'12/1 W. A área e constituída por vegetação de manguezal nas porções sul, centro e norte da ilha; campos hipersalinos cobertos por vegetação herbácea no interior ou próximo aos manguezais; formação barreira no interior da ilha e vegetação de restinga cobrindo grande parte da planície arenosa, na porção norte, nordeste e oeste da Ilha. O presente trabalho trata do levantamento das espécies de Chrysobanaceaes. A família Chrysobalanaceae é constituída por cerca de 521 espécies, distribuídas em 18 gêneros. O gênero Licania (151 sp.), e Hirtella (89 sp.), são os maiores e ambos estão primariamente localizados nos Neotrópicos. A Família Chrysobalanaceae é uma das famílias mais abundantes da Amazônia central. Para o estudo das Chrysobalanaceae da APAforam utilizados material já herborizado e incorporados no acervo do herbário João Murça Pires, do Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi (MG); todo material foi hidratado em solução de álcool 70%, de modo a facilitar a descrição e ilustração das espécies. Através de revisões bibliográficas e coleções identificadas por especialistas foram confirmadas as características diferenciais dos táxons e montada uma chave de identificação para as espécies ocorrentes na APA. Foram levantadas para a família cinco espécies, distribuídas em quatro gêneros, sendo elas: Chrysobalanus icaco L., Hirtella ciliata Mart. et Zucc., Hirtella racemosa varo hexandra Willd. ex Roemr. et Schult, Licania octandra subsp octandra Hoffmanns. ex Roem. & Schult.
