The work presented here involved cleaning the cemetery space and the tombs, the graphic and photographic recording of the space, and the translation. The exodus of a large part of the families practicing Judaism, the consequent disorganization of this community and the conversion of the remaining ones to Christianity, the cemetery fell into disuse. The tombstones, most of which were written in Hebrew, lost their meaning with the death of the oldest ones who still spoke the language. |
