It differentiates the ideas of collecting and hoarding within the Amazonian context. By presenting an academic research project linked to the Goeldi Museum, it defends the engaged management and shared custody of the archaeological collections generated. It proposes the concept of sensitive archaeology, as a humble, disalienated and, therefore, committed and powerful archaeology. O artigo discute sobre a arqueologia praticada na Amazônia e seus temas correlatos, que incluem as pessoas e as comunidades; suas coisas e paisagens; a gestão dos acervos e a atuação das instituições. Diferencia as ideias de colecionismo e colecionamento dentro do contexto amazônico. Ao apresentar um projeto de pesquisa acadêmica vinculada ao Museu Goeldi, defende a gestão engajada e a guarda compartilhada dos acervos arqueológicos gerados.
