In the present paper is notified for the first time in the Brasiilan amazon region, the ocurrence of Bachia cophias (Schneider, 1801), anapod lizard of the Teiidae family. The autor gives a description of the only specimen collected, as well as, short notes on the geographic distribution and some eco­logical observations.
