The purpose of this paper is to describe the history of education in the São José community based on the memory of community members and professionals. Five teachers were interviewed. Three of these teachers also worked as directors, three students, two pioneer residents, a former service assistant, a current service assistant (lunch box) and a current teacher. Four representative phases of the history of the Olavo Bilac school were identified, characterized by changes in structural aspects, public management by the state or municipal government, human resources and schooling. Currently the school attends to the main elementary school, with 19 servers, maintaining throughout all phases the teaching in multisseriado system. |
