The research is exploratory with a qualitative approach, through the application of a questionnaire to sixty users and an interview with the person in charge of managing social media in the Library. The results show that 95% of the public makes use of the social network, however 58% of them did not know the Facebook page of the Library, but in relation to the public who know 92% of them have already used some product or service due to disclosures seen by them on Facebook. About the Central Library, we find that the Institution believes that social networks such as Facebook can contribute to improving the mediation of information and the quality of services and products offered to the public. O objetivo da pesquisa é verificar de que modo o uso do Facebook pela Biblioteca Central Prof. Dr. Clodoaldo Beckmann contribui no processo de comunicação e divulgação de seus produtos e serviços, também buscamos apurar a presença de seus usuários na rede social e identificar se conhecem a página da Biblioteca no Facebook e como a avaliam. A pesquisa é de caráter exploratório com abordagem qualitativa, por meio da aplicação de questionário a sessenta usuários e de entrevista ao responsável pelo gerenciamento de mídias sociais na Biblioteca. Os resultados revelam que 95% do público faz uso da rede social, todavia 58% deles não conheciam a página do Facebook da Biblioteca, mas com relação ao público que a ela conhecem 92% deles já fizeram uso de algum produto ou serviço devido a divulgações vistas por eles no Facebook.
