The research is ethnographic and developed following the methodology of qualitative research, being carried out between the months of December 2017 and May 2018. It began with bibliographical research, in sequence were conducted semi-structured interviews with local residents, teachers and parents participation in school and in the community. The research was divided in three moments: In the first one, it was directed to the data collection about the historical process of the community. In the second, the research turned to the school space and, in the third, was directed the analysis about the curriculum developed by the School Institution. The theoretical contribution was based on Brandão (2007), Silva (2004), Libâneo (1994), Petersen (1991), among others that discuss this problem. As results we obtain that the school presents in its curriculum some elements that take us to consider to the applicability of the educational experience of its clientele, although timidly. Considering this statement, I conclude by saying that the cultural identity of a group is constituted by means of its way of thinking, speaking, living and relating to one another, through forms and customs perpetuated from generation to generation, group, a particular characteristic, which defines them as belonging to a particular society. In Silva's (2000) perspective, identity, like difference, is a social and cultural product, that is, it is produced in the social context where interpersonal relationships occur. O presente trabalho foi desenvolvido na Comunidade Quilombola São Manoel, e pretende analisar se os saberes e fazeres culturais da Comunidade, concebidos enquanto experiência educativa, são ou não aplicadas na escola por meio de seu currículo. A pesquisa é de cunho etnográfico e desenvolveu-se seguindo a metodologia de pesquisa qualitativa, sendo realizada entre os meses de Dezembro de 2017 a Maio de 2018. Iniciou com pesquisas bibliográficas, em sequência foram realizadas entrevistas semiestruturadas com os moradores locais, professores e pais de alunos, análise de documentos e observação participante na escola e na Comunidade. A pesquisa foi dividida em três momentos: No primeiro, foi direcionada ao levantamento de dados acerca do processo histórico da comunidade. No segundo, a pesquisa voltou-se para o espaço escolar e, no terceiro, foi direcionada a análise acerca do currículo desenvolvido pela Instituição Escolar. O aporte teórico foi embasado em Brandão (2007), Silva (2004), Libâneo (1994), Petersen (1991), entre outros que discutem essa problemática. Como resultados obtido temos que a escola apresenta em seu currículo alguns elementos que nos leve a considerar à aplicabilidade da experiência educativa de sua clientela, ainda que timidamente. Considerando esta afirmação finalizo dizendo que a identidade cultural de um grupo é constituída por meio de sua maneira de pensar, falar, viver e se relacionar uns com os outros, por meio de formas e costumes que se perpetuam de geração em geração, proporcionando a esse grupo, uma característica particular, que os define enquanto pertencentes a uma determinada sociedade.
