For define methodology, I spoke to theorists like André (1995); Lüdke; André (1986); Bogdan; Biklen (1994), among others. As data collection procedures, the daily routine of this school was carried out, interviews and photographic records were carried out. As a theoretical contribution I used Almeida e Placco (2012), Clementi (2009), Libâneo (2010), among others. The analyzed data made it possible to identify and analyze the practice of the pedagogical coordinator in the Antônio de Oliveira Gordo school, so it is possible to affirm that this professional performs several functions, in front of various instances of the school, that is, before the teaching staff, of the administrative-management body, in front of the PPP (Political Pedagogical Project) and in front of the other school activities, so the coordinators of the Antônio de Oliveira Gordo school are responsible for organizing the teacher's continuing education, guiding teachers in their practices, preparation of student evaluations, attending parents and students, supervising entry and exit of students, enable the preparation of the PPP (Political Pedagogical Project) with the school community. It was also possible to perceive that pedagogical coordination is a challenging function, since those who assume this role have to perform beyond their tasks the work of other professionals, even compromising their true identity within the school. We conclude with this work that although the deviations of function is a reality in the daily pedagogical coordination of the School Antônio de Oliveira Gordo, the greater perspective is the professional recognition. Este trabalho tem como objetivo compreender a função da coordenação pedagógica no que concerne às limitações, às possibilidades e às perspectivas da sua atuação no contexto da Escola Antônio de Oliveira Gordo, localizada no município de Moju, no Pará. Trata-se de uma pesquisa de abordagem qualitativa do tipo Estudo de Caso etnográfico, por nos permitir compreender e retratar as particularidades do objeto em questão num determinado espaço e tempo. Para definir a metodologia, dialoguei com teóricos como André (1995); Lüdke; André (1986); Bogdan; Biklen (1994), entre outros. Como procedimentos de coleta de dados, foi feita a observação do cotidiano da referida escola, realizadas entrevistas e registros fotográficos. Como aporte teórico utilizei Almeida e Placco (2012), Clementi (2009), Libâneo (2010), entre outros. Os dados analisados permitiram identificar e analisar a prática da coordenação pedagógica na escola Antônio de Oliveira Gordo, assim, é possível afirmar que o profissional desta área realiza várias funções, diante de várias instâncias da escola, ou seja, diante do corpo docente, do corpo discente, do corpo gestor-administrativo, frente ao Projeto Político Pedagógico (PPP) e frente as demais atividades da escola, assim as coordenadoras da escola Antônio de Oliveira Gordo, são responsáveis por organizar a formação continuada docente, orientar os professores nas suas práticas, ajudar na elaboração das avaliações dos alunos, atender pais e alunos, vigiar entrada e saída de alunos, possibilitar a elaboração do Projeto Político Pedagógico (PPP) junto à comunidade escolar. Também foi possível perceber que a coordenação pedagógica é uma função repleta de desafios, pois, quem assume esse papel tem que realizar além de suas tarefas a de outros profissionais, comprometendo inclusive a sua identidade dentro da escola.
