As a result, the objective of this study was to investigate the relevance of non-manual expressions in the teaching learning process of pounds, with the tool the use of theater as an increase of methodology in language teaching. It is a descriptive study and a qualitative approach performed with a group of six participants working in a theater group in the city of Nova Esperança do Piriá (PA). The data collection instrument was a questionnaire with eight open and closed questions, outlined from the scope of this study. The results show that the learner a new language, in this case Pounds, have immense difficulty when exposed to random signals, given that this language uses non-Manais aspects to schedule a grammatical sentence or the intonation of a sentence. The use of this feature in the theater gave more freedom to the participants to create phrases or interpret requested texts O presente estudo faz uma discussão sobre o processo de ensino/aprendizado da Língua Brasileira de Sinais - Libras. A pesquisa partiu da observa-se de que a maioria dos cursos, nos quais estive presente, há uma maior preocupação na apreensão e aquisição dos sinais não tendo uma atenção para os parâmetros secundários, neste caso as expressões não-manuais. Em função disso, o objetivo deste trabalho foi investigar a relevância das expressões não-manuais no processo de ensino aprendizagem da Libras, tendo como ferramenta a utilização do teatro como metodologia de incremento no ensino da língua. É um estudo do tipo descritivo e uma abordagem qualitativa sendo realizada com um grupo de seis participantes que atuam num grupo de teatro no município de Nova Esperança do Piriá (PA). O instrumento de coleta de dados foi um questionário com dez perguntas abertas e fechadas, delineado a partir dos objetivos deste estudo. Os resultados apontam que o aprendiz de uma nova língua, no caso a Libras, tem dificuldade imensa quando exposto a sinais aleatórios, haja vista que essa língua usa os aspectos não-manais para marcar uma sentença gramatical ou a entonação de uma frase.
