This paper presents a case study that aimed to identify the environmental impacts of improper disposal of solid waste in São Miguel do Guama, Para State, in an area known as the Dump Patauateua. In this study a literature techniques were used in order to present an overview of the problem of solid waste, especially in Brazil. Descriptive techniques were used for observation, data collection, recording and analysis of facts and phenomena of the searched area. For the identification of environmental impacts was used a technique called Checklist Listing or control, which consists of a tool for assessing environmental impact that helped identify the affected environmental factors. The research results show that the municipality has serious deficiencies in the management of solid waste and the improper disposal of waste in the Dump Patauateua been causing environmental impacts on the physical, biotic and anthropic environment. |
