Resumo:
The complexity of Northeast Brazil climate (NEB) and Amazon is observed by the action and interaction of various atmospheric systems, such as, East Waves Disturbances (DOLs), the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), Squall Lines (SC), the High Levels Cyclonic Vortices (UTCV) and isolated convective systems. Among these, the DOLs are very important, to cause abrupt changes of synoptic conditions, mainly of the southern wind (v), having as consequence humidification of a layer of increased cloudiness and precipitation. The objective of this study was to investigate the DOLs action of the NEB and Amazon, during the June-July-August period from 2000 to 2004, through the ETA regional model Reanalysis and rainfall estimatives from the TRMM satellite. It was observed that the DOLs are more evident in the more boreal latitudes, when compared with the southern latitudes of the tropics and the NEB, the JJA period from 2000 to 2004 is highlighted, for presenting rainfall positive anomalies over large parts of the NEB and Amazon Regions (especially under the Atlantic coastal area).
