A field survey was carried out with twenty-five literacy teachers, using a structured model from nine semi-open questions. The statements were about the tendencies and practices of literacy in Brazil: as basic concepts; a "disincentive" of literacy and a "reinvention" of literacy. It was possible to analyze from the previous date for the foundations and the pedagogical practices evidenced in literacy in the Municipal Network of Education of Castanhal-PA. O presente trabalho tem por objetivo refletir e analisar os desafios presentes na alfabetização, buscando referendar os pressupostos teóricos aprofundados por Ferreiro e Teberosky (1999), Cagliari (2006, 2009), Magda Soares (2010), Kramer (2010), Mendonça (2011), Morais (2012), relacionando-os às afirmativas sobre práticas e conceitos de alguns alfabetizadores que atuam no primeiro ano do ensino fundamental no município de Castanhal-Pa. A pesquisa de campo foi realizada com vinte e cinco alfabetizadoras, com aplicação de questionário estruturado a partir de nove perguntas semiabertas. As afirmativas versavam sobre tendências e práticas de alfabetização que buscavam situar o docente em três momentos históricos da alfabetização no Brasil: as concepções tradicionais; a “desinvenção” da alfabetização e a “reinvenção” da alfabetização.
