Studying the possibility of entering the discipline of pounds in the educational curriculum of librarianship course at the Federal University of Pará, PPC through the study of the School of Library Science at UFPA and also PPC other educational institutions of the Brazilian librarianship. Search check that the students have knowledge of sign language (Libras) and explore how teachers can help to manage the disciplines for students with hearing impairment. Uses qualitative and quantitative approaches, literature and documentary. Presents the results of field research, in which instruments were used to collect data through forms, directed to the teachers of UFPA and questionnaires directed to students of Library Science Faculty of the UFPA and those responsible for other library schools in the country. Presents the result that the discipline exists in two institutions outside the state of Pará and students and local teachers of the course have some knowledge of Libras, and understand that this discipline would be relevant to the academic curriculum context. Porting, the hearing impaired conquered large areas in the labor market and in the academic environment, it shows that the inclusion of these people in society contributes to the prejudice index became more partial among citizens.
