Therefore, it is necessary to investigate and develop new methodological strategies that simplify the understanding of the basic concepts of geometry. Thus, the work developed from bibliographical research and methodological application in the classroom to identify the main needs. Thus, generate a reflection around current teaching practices and collaborate on the problem of the application of geometry. O presente trabalho tem por objetivo apresentar as dificuldades encontradas por alunos em diversas etapas do ensino e da aprendizagem da geometria. Nesse contexto, observa-se as dificuldades de percepção e visualização geométrica que surgem devido o defict na aplicação dos seus conceitos fundamentais. Por isso, é necessário investigar e desenvolver novas estratégias metodológicas as quais simplifiquem a compreensão dos conceitos básicos da geometria. Dessa forma, o trabalho desenvolveu-se a partir de pesquisas bibliográfica e aplicação metodológica em sala de aula para identificar as principais necessidades.
